January 2022 E-news: By Kerwin Exhibition Returns to Norwich

By Kerwin Returns to Norwich 💥 Lights, Canvas, Action III: Homecoming at the Crypt Gallery, Cathedral Close

By Kerwin pop art painting exhibition at the Crypt Gallery, Norwich School

I’m excited to announce my first exhibition of 2022 – and after my series of 5 shows in London in the second half of 2022 I will be exhibiting once again in Norwich, bringing the third edition of my ‘Lights, Canvas, Action’ series to the Crypt Gallery in the Cathedral Close.

Following editions I and II held at The Forum and Anteros Arts Foundation in Norwich respectively, this latest exhibition will see me display my full range of action painted acrylic portraits, as well as videos, prints and merchandise, in the historic centre of Norwich for almost 3 weeks from Wednesday 23rd February to Friday 11th March.

The Crypt Gallery, Norwich School

It will be held in the Crypt Gallery (pictured), situated underneath the Chapel building in The Close, and right next to Norwich Cathedral. This commercial gallery is also part of my former school, Norwich School, where I spent 11 years and is (by far) the oldest venue I will have exhibited at – having been built over 700 years ago in 1316!

I hope the long wait for Jackson Pollock-inspired pop art to make an appearance has been worth it. After the likes of the Barbican Centre, the Oxo Tower and a converted shipping container at Boxpark Shoreditch, it will be great to exhibit at another totally unique style of venue.

‘Lights, Canvas, Action III: Homecoming’ will be open from Monday to Saturday and is free to visit. Opening times will be confirmed nearer the time at www.bykerwin.com/exhibitions, but these will be regular daytime hours. Please note that due to the historic nature of the building there is no wheelchair access.

I hope to see some of you there! As ever I’ll also be posting footage from my Facebook and Instagram accounts.

The 200 Club – A Double Century of Prints Sold

In December I was very pleased to reach 200 prints sold since launching in November 2019. Take a look at the breakdown of the all time print sales below to see which my most popular paintings are! There’s a new leader… as my David Bowie painting overtakes Prince to become the top seller. Thanks for the support in reaching this milestone.

2019 Throwback – 3 Years since my King’s College London Graduation!

Kerwin Blackburn graduating from King's College London in MSc Emerging Economies and Inclusive Development at the Royal Festival Hall

It was good to look back at 3 years since I graduated from King’s College London with my Master’s degree in January 2019 at the Royal Festival Hall overlooking the Thames. And no I didn’t study art or go to art school – this was MSc Emerging Economies and Inclusive Development, which follows my first degree of BSc International Business, Finance and Economics from Manchester Business School! Growing up, painting had always just been a hobby that I have now applied these commercial skills to over the last few years.

I flew back from Singapore where I was living and working at the time for 10 days especially for my London graduation. That was a crazy and unforgettable time.

Latest Painting: George Michael and Beyoncé – Prints Available Now
