Exhibiting at Norwich’s African & Caribbean Market 2023

Kerwin Exhibits at The African & Caribbean Market at The Forum, Norwich, 30 September 2023

On 30 September 2023 I had great fun exhibiting and trading at the African & Caribbean Market 2023 at The Forum in Norwich. This vibrant market day was organised by Global Village Market Norwich and was a celebration of African & Caribbean-inspired artisans and culture.

It was great to exhibit a selection of my original paintings, prints, clothing and merchandise on the day at this fair. As a Norwich-born artist with African heritage – which partly inspired my use of vibrant and colourful colour schemes within my paintings – this event was perfect to exhibit at.

I chose paintings and prints of my African-American music artists to feature, such as Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder and Jimi Hendrix. I also displayed my original Caribbean-themed acrylic pop art action paintings: Bob Marley and Rihanna. As Saturday 30 September also kicked off the beginning of Black History Month which runs during October, I also displayed my original Martin Luther King painting.

I also displayed a selection of By Kerwin clothing and merchandise including mugs, t-shirts, greetings cards, coasters and flip flops which were available to purchase or order from my website on the day.

I was very pleased to meet and introduce my artwork to a new audience on the day. As always, I was very grateful to see my artwork heading off to new homes too. Thanks to everyone who came along and to those who purchased artwork.

What is Global Village Market Norwich?

Global Village Market Norwich exists to celebrate the diversity of artisans, artists, performers and small businesses from Norfolk and the Eastern region of the UK.

They organise and host markets and fairs each year in Norwich where such artisans and traders can display and sell their unique offerings and vibrant creations to the public. It also gives them a chance to introduce aspects of their culture and international products to an interested audience.

The African & Caribbean Market 2023 featured fantastic stalls and unique products from across Africa and the Caribbean inside The Forum. Outside featured a popular African & Caribbean street food market as well as super performances from local musicians and dancers.

I have painted icons from different eras and musical genres including Bob Marley, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, Jay-Z, Marvin Gaye and Martin Luther King.

“I’ve exhibited my artwork in solo shows and art fairs in Norwich, London and New York, and paintings are available to purchase as premium giclée prints as well as other merchandise. Let me know who to paint next!”
