Kerwin Presents Nelson’s Journey Charity Prize Beatles Print
Presenting a one-off custom Beatles print to its new owner in aid of a good cause
On Wednesday 22nd November 2023, at the Private View drinks evening for my Norwich art exhibition, ‘Pop! Goes The Easel’, I was delighted to present my hand-embellished canvas print of The Beatles to its new owner. This custom, one-off print was a prize that was won at charity auction at the Nelson’s Journey 2023 annual fundraiser Charity Ball & Gala Dinner, held on 23rd September.
The auction prize winner was able to choose a canvas print from my By Kerwin [LINK] range of their choice – which I would then hand-embellish with extra layers of acrylic paint for a unique finishing touch. The winner decided on The Beatles – which happened to be the first ever painting I did in my Jackson Pollock-inspired pop art style (back in 2019).
The print was then signed, mounted and framed before being presented at the Private View drinks reception (which was sponsored by Adnams), in front of a crowd of over 40 people.
It was great to see its new owner so enthusiastic to receive the artwork, and to have raised £375 in the process!
WHO ARE NELSON’S JOURNEY?
Nelson’s Journey is a prominent charity organisation based in Norfolk, England, that has been making a profound impact on the lives of bereaved children and young people since its inception. Founded in 1997, the charity was named in honor of Lord Admiral Horatio Nelson, a historical figure closely associated with Norfolk, who himself experienced the loss of a parent during childhood.
The organisation was established with a heartfelt mission: to support children and young individuals who have experienced the devastating loss of a loved one, providing them with the tools and guidance needed to navigate the complex and often overwhelming emotions that come with grief.
